FUCK SCOTT BORAS AND FUCK J.D. DREW TOO
To be a baseball fan in the 21st century, one has to ignore the fact that the owners are gazillionaires and the players and multi-millionaires. Pretend that players actually feel a passion, a loyalty for the team in which they play, at least as much as me, the fan. But unfortunately, pro sports, especially baseball, is all about bullshit and greed. And it just breaks my heart. I grew up loving the Dodgers, but when Fox bought the team in 1998, I found my allegiance sliding toward the Angels. For some inexplicable reason, I really dug the 2006 Dodgers -- Nomar, Olmaedo Saenz. Russell Martin. Derek Lowe, in particular, kicks ass (must be the puka shells).
Former Dodger general manager Paul DePodesta signed J.D. Drew to a five-year, $55 million contact before the 2005 season. The contract had an opt-out clause after the second season, meaning Drew could declare himself a free agent after two years. Which is all good and fine. Except J.D. fucking ingrate Drew is a coward and a pussy. Two days ago, he was quoted as saying this:
"I don't plan on (using) it," he said Tuesday. "I've enjoyed my time living in Los Angeles. That's what it was there for – to make sure (wife) Sheigh and I didn't come all the way across the country (from their native Georgia) and get stuck in a situation we didn't like."
"You know what – I don't think so," said Drew, who also has a limited no trade clause. "Ultimately it's my decision, and we're happy where we're at. We love our house in Pasadena. My wife is happy. She's made a lot of friends in our neighborhood and with the other players' wives. That's really the thing that was nerve-wracking about it (free agency) for me.
"At some point, you make those commitments and you stick to them."
Today he opted out of his deal. His agent, Scott Boras, is one of the biggest greedheads in the business so I'm guessing this is just another example of a greedy agent trying to squeeze every last dime out of the fans to put into the pockets of his greedy clients. How much money do you need, J.D.? Eleven million isn't enough?
Get the fuck out of here, dude. I will be applauding your career-ending injury next May. And I hope the Democrats tax you out your ass.

You're a jerk. JD is awesome. The Dodgers suck, and I'm glad he got out of LA. This is Major League Baseball. You really need to learn to deal with the business aspect of the game. Also, it doesn't look like your prediction came true. It is June 9, 2007, and JD drove in seven runs tonight.
I'm glad he's out of L.A. too. And I'll be the first one to raise a glass when Boston's on the hook for all those millions when J.D. hits the 60-day DL for a hangnail. Enjoy it while it lasts, cause all you obnoxious Sox fans will be bitching about him soon enough.
